Everglades National Park

What made this sunset a little different was a storm rolling in. The clouds were more and more beautiful as the sun set and the colors so brilliant. We stopped first at Indian Key Pass by Russel Pass and the following night, we anchored in Shark River, about 40 miles further south. We were heading down to the Florida Keys. We'd also stopped at Naples for a night to visit some friends. It would not be our choice of places to stay long. The Everglades was a welcomed stop. Never have I seen stars so bright. They glistened on the water just as the moon would on a full moon night! BUT, as we stepped out to get a better view, the mosquitoes held us hostage in 10 seconds flat. One of the guide books playfully suggests you bring a shotgun to combat the mosquito population in this area. They aren't kidding!
