The Spuyten Duyvil Swing Bridge

This is the point at which the connection to the Harlem River enters the Hudson from the east. We got lucky yesterday. One of the Circle Line Day cruise boats came up behind us. You could almost see the smile on our faces from shore to shore. The Circle Line is always given priority in the timed opening of this swing bridge. We heard them call in on the radio, and the response was to slow it down a bit because one of the trains were due in 6 minutes. We did likewise and when we arrived we sailed right through :-)
