Many of you asked why we needed the paper charts when we had a chart plotter and GPS. Here is a classic example of what happens when the electronics are not functioning properly. All we had was a vague sketch of the surrounding area. We always have one or two charts available and follow them throughout the route. The cruising guides are just nice to have around for tourist information.
