We hailed the first Auxiliary base we saw on the charts. This was Flotilla 26- Sylvan Beach, NY. One of its members came to pick us up in his 1966 Cadillac De ville convertable and drove us back to the base for a tour. Ray and his wife live on the base in the summer months and winter in Florida. The base has dockage for 6 boats, it's own winter storage, and a base about the size of ours for public education and meetings. We were invited to dock with the flotilla members but we had already secured for the night at Sylvan Beach.
